Flood Rescues
In January 2011 the greater Brisbane and Toowoomba regions experienced widespread flooding. Becker Helicopters was called at 4am on 12 January 2011 to rescue 3 people and a dog from a rooftop in Lowood, who had been stranded there for two days.
On the return to base from this mission, our pilots noticed another 14 people stranded on the rooftop of a school. They evacuated these people to safe ground as well.
Becker Helicopters was also involves in searching for survivors. The photo below, taken by one of the other rescue helicopters operating at the time, shows a Becker Helicopters helicopter searching the debris of the River.
